Visa is pushing forward with its blockchain finance strategy through a new pilot program that facilitates USDC payouts via Visa Direct. This initiative is tailored for freelancers, creators, and cross-border workers, providing near-instant settlement and reduced costs compared to traditional banking systems. It represents a major milestone in Visa's goal of achieving 'universal money movement,' especially for underbanked regions.

Currently, the pilot only supports USDC conversions, requiring participants to use approved digital wallets with KYC verification. Visa aims for a full launch by 2026, depending on regulatory progress and client demand. This effort builds on Visa's $140 billion crypto payment volume since 2020, cementing its role as a connector between traditional finance and digital assets.
